Katrina Response 9-15
You are all AWESOME!!
The Florida Hospital employees have now packed and delivered more than 2,400 BUCKETS OF LOVE to families who were evacuated due to the effects of Hurricane Katrina.
We have also sent thousands of pounds of medical supplies, fuel, and support in a score of vehicles that have travelled to Louisiana and Mississippi.
Also a number of our physicians and nurses registered on the government volunteer line, were called to duty, and have served ion the Gulf Coast.
We continue to be well-represented in the recovery process.
Thank You!
HOWEVER, many folks are still in need of your help.
1. We have been asked to fill 2,000 more BUCKETS OF LOVE. Those empty buckets are at the Pastoral Care office on each campus, and in a public area at Courtland and Maitland. Please pick up a couple buckets, fill them, and return them to your campus by TUESDAY, September 20.
2. All filled BUCKETS OF LOVE will be picked up Tuesday, September 20, and sent to the disaster area on Wednesday morning. This will conclude the Buckets of Love effort.
3. HOWEVER!!! (Seems like there is always a "however") We have been asked to provide several thousand BOXES OF LOVE—targeted to babies aqnd families. We're call ing this, OPERATION HOPE AND HEALING.
The Family Pack, (Food for a Family of Four) The Baby Pack, (diapers and other consumables for babies)
LISTS ARE ON THE BOXES, ON THE INTRANET KATRINA SITE, AND AVAILABLE FROM YOOUR COORDINATOR
4. Boxes and Labels are being supplied by FH and will be delivered to each campus and satellite facility for your pick-up Friday, September 16.
5. You may pick up empty boxes FRIDAY from your CARE TO SHARE coordinator (the same person who coordinated your backpack project a few weeks ago). Filled Boxes will be picked up on Tuesday, Sept. 20 and again on Sept. 27.
6. FILLED BOXES are to be delivered to the loading dock, or other designated location on your campus.
Thank you again for your compassion, and for how you are serving evacuees and others in need because of Katrina.
