About Us
The Florida Hospital System is one
of more than 500 not-for-profit Christian health care
facilities owned or operated by the Seventh-day Adventist
Church worldwide.
Florida Hospital was founded in 1908, then named Florida
Sanitarium. Today, Florida Hospital is a multi-campus
system, with full-service facilities in Orlando, Altamonte,
Apopka, East Orlando, Kissimmee, Volusia County and
Sebring, as well as 16 walk-in clinics or Centra Cares
situated throughout Central Florida. In 1997, Celebration
Health—a state-of-the-art facility—opened
its doors in the futuristic Disney city, Celebration.
Construction was also completed in early 1998 on the
RDV Sportsplex in Maitland, a joint venture between
the hospital and the parent corporation of the Orlando
Magic basketball team and the Orlando Solar Bears hockey
team. This unique facility provides a rehabilitation
and fitness center, along with a Women's Center, training
facilities, and a complete sports medicine program,
among other services.
Florida Hospital is the flagship organization owned
and operated by Adventist Health System, a corporation
which owns or operates healthcare facilities extending
from the Carolinas to Texas, and from Florida to Wisconsin.
Although affiliated with the Seventh-day
Adventist Church, Florida Hospital values the fact that
employees come from many religious backgrounds and denominations.
Florida Hospital hopes all employees
think of themselves as extensions of God's caring nature
in their work in healing and comforting the sick, and
to share hope and the good news of His love in word
and action.
At Florida Hospital, we care for the whole person—their
body, mind and spirit.
Part of caring for the whole person
comes from taking pride in the hospital environment—from
the way we dress, to the way our buildings are designed,
and to the way our grounds are kept.
So, What is the working environment
like at Florida Hospital?
Florida Hospital strives to provide
the best medical service in a friendly Christian atmosphere.
The way our fellow coworkers, patients, physicians and
visitors are treated reflects on the entire organization.
An important part of employment at
Florida Hospital is a courteous, friendly attitude and
being helpful at all times. Even when an employee doesn’t
have direct contact with patients, interaction and treatment
with fellow workers, visitors, and vendors make a difference.
This is so important to Florida Hospital that customer
service guidelines are included in all job descriptions,
and all yearly performance evaluations cover these items
and influence annual pay increases.
Employees are expected to be courteous,
friendly and helpful at all times. Even if your job
won't put you in direct contact with patients, it will
matter how you interact with and treat fellows workers,
visitors, and vendors.

means:
• reflecting a caring, compassionate
attitude towards patients and visitors
• holding conversation at an appropriate volume

employees and applicants for employment, regardless
of race, creed, color, disability, sex, age, national
origin or marital status.

its workforce by offering competitive salaries and excellent

Management at Florida Hospital recognizes
that each human being comes from the Creator and is
entitled to high personal respect, basic human rights,
and fair treatment. As a result of this priority, there
is a close relationship between employees and management,
and no employee is represented by a labor union. Thus,
each person is free to interact with their manager without
outside interference.
Management of Florida Hospital believes
that it is an employee's lawful right to remain independent
of any labor organization. In accordance with this belief,
the hospital will take every legal step possible to
oppose union organization.
Now that you have seen who we are and
what we are all about, if you feel you would like to
